The Queen Elizabeth is a premier teaching hospital. It's also a military hospital, and treats many wounded armed forces personnel. As such it is nationally important. On this new infrastructure built on a brown field site, the cycle path is squeezed on to the footway. It quickly runs out of space, and turns into a shared path that passes through the bus shelters.
