Vivian Road Filtered Permeability
The "No Entry" sign is one few drivers are willing to ignore, which is good, but this arrangement does not convey "cycles have priority" in the reverse direction, as is the case with a bicycle street. Filtered permeability schemes like this do not result in traffic chaos, but do facilitate cycling for little cost. We need a lot more of this. A handful of filtered permeability schemes across a city the size of Birmingham is not going to get people cycling in anything like sufficient numbers.
