Good infrastructure isn't complicated. This underpass is a good design, because the side walls are angled out and those using it can see clear through from one side to the other. A gap has been provided at the central reservation so that the underpass is well lit with natural light. This means it has good social safety (it doesn't feel threatening). It could be improved by raising the road slightly so engines take some of the effort of handling the incline, but this is still a better design than many that can be seen in the Netherlands.
