Cycling Inequality
A number of religious beliefs require the wearing of clothing that covers the entire body, whilst some women simply prefer the more modest styling of traditional clothing. Clothing chosen for reasons of modesty is not a barrier to women cycling. What is a barrier is hostile, macho-man infrastructure that requires people to cycle like the devil through heavy, fast moving traffic. As it happens, most people are put off cycling by such infrastructure, but women are disproportionately affected.
