Simon Foster was elected as West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner in May 2021 and this is an opportunity after 18 months to hear what he has to say about his role and ask him about Roads Policing in particular. The role of the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is to be the voice of the people and they are responsible for the totality of policing. PCCs aim to cut crime and deliver an effective and efficient police service within their police force area. They are elected by the public to hold Chief Constables and the force to account, making the police answerable to the communities they serve.
Simon Foster's election manifesto has a good section on roads policing on page 18. The current West Midlands Police and Crime Plan is available here.
