Push Bikes AGM 2015

Space for Cycling Tory Party conference ride
Tuesday, June 16, 2015 - 19:00

Push Bikes AGM will be held this year on Tuesday 16th June, at Carrs Lane Church Centre (Carrs Lane, B4 7SX), starting at 7pm. At the AGM we will discuss Push Bikes' activities over the past year and make plans for the coming year. We will also elect the committee for the coming year and vote on motions submitted to the AGM.

Over the past year Push Bikes has been heavily involved with examining the plans for the Birmingham Cycle Revolution. Work has yet to start on the main corridors and parallel routes - we will discuss the progress that has been made, what work there is to be done, and Push Bikes' activities in evaluating the infrastructure built and influencing future BCR proposals. Last year Push Bikes was also involved in the Space 4 Cycling campaign, including the mass ride at the Conservative Party conference. While the Space 4 Cycling campaign has been quiet nationally since then, Cycle Sheffield used the Space 4 Cycling campaign during the May 2015 elections. We will discuss the campaign that Push Bikes organised for the local elections, and the CTC's Vote Bike campaign, and think about what we will do for the local elections in May 2016.

Provisional agenda for the AGM:

  1. Chair's welcome
  2. Reports from outgoing committee
  3. Q&A for the outgoing committee
  4. Election of new committee
  5. Discuss and vote on motions received

The AGM is open to anyone who wants to attend, but only Push Bikes members can vote. Voting is by a simple majority, except amendments to the constitution which requires a two-thirds majority. Non-members can join Push Bikes at the AGM. Motions can be put forward during the meeting, but it is best if they are submitted before the AGM so that they can be publicised here. Motions amending the constitution need to be received before the 2nd June, so that they can be publicised for 2 weeks prior to the AGM, as per the constitution. Anyone who wants to stand for the committee can put forward their name at the AGM. Voting for the committee is will be by a secret ballot, as laid out in the constitution.

Use this contact form to propose motions and put forward questions for the committee to answer at the AGM.

  • 3 extra committee members (including the Membership Secretary and the System Manager)
